Hi!

There are rising cases of child trafficking in Nigeria - could this be as a result of get-rich-quick syndrome? Ritual killings for power?

Of recent times too are issues of surrogacy, or orphanages providing succour to young girls but at the end are baby factory centres where these girls are impregnated by boys/men and the babies are sold out either couples who have some medical challenges in child bearing, or some are sold out to other customers who only God knows what they are using these babies for.

I thought of bringing these things to the whole house here. I don’t know whether such things are also prevalent in other places elsewhere.

Truly, while grappling with issues for gender equality and positive masculinity, there are other negative collaborators who are milking their cows unnoticed as their activities are against the fundamental rights to life, illicit business, trafficking, infringement to child rights act.

I trust the house might add upon this issues raised.

Donjosh , the same trafficking cases is going on here in my country Ghana. In some big hospitals in the Greater Accra region, Ashanti region and Central region and Volta region but mainly Accra, Volta and Ashanti region, some of the Nurses and Doctors connive with some people to sell the new horns baby’s. Majority of their clients are couples finding it difficult to have a child and also some secret individuals for their own benefits. But due to democracy and freedom of the media here most of these people are caught. In some communities in the rural areas children below 18 years are laborers and majority of them are orphans which their aunty’s and uncle’s seek permission from their care takers to sponsor them in education but refused when they get back to their villages. . Many Ghanaian children are trafficked from their home villages to work in the fishing industry, mining sectors. Some are into it because of puberty and lack of Education.Some of these kids are sometimes brought from the neighboring countries like cote-d-ivoire ,Togo and Burkina Faso (Human trafficking in Burkina Faso - Wikipedia) are subjected to forced prostitution after arriving in Ghana. Citizens from other West African (West Africa - Wikipedia) countries are subjected to forced labor in Ghana in agriculture or involuntary domestic servitude. Trafficking victims endure extremes of harsh treatment, including long hours, debt bondage and etc. But measures is taken to reduce these cases.
