Hello all,

What an interesting week! We appreciate all who ‘arrived’ and contributed this week. Because it was our first week, the focus was on getting to know each other.

The tasks for the week were as follows:

We have noted the suggestions on topics of discussion. They will be incorporated in the coming weeks. Remember, one needs to contribute at least 3 meaningful posts in Weeks 2, 3 and 4 to qualify for a certificate from Farm Radio International.

If you have not introduced yourself yet, you can still do so as we prepare to move to Week 2.

Have a lovely weekend!

Busi

Busi, I greet from Nigeria. I note your comments. Not to worry. I’m here to learn. I will do that fast. All of those suggested topics are meant to model media work collaboration in a sort of way. An application can always tilt to farm radio broadcasting. By the way, Barry Commoner’s environmental law posits in the web of life everything is connected to everything else.
Kind regards.

I am Rehema Ndagire, from Kampala Uganda l am a retired Farmer Program broadcaster and l have won several prizes and l have received many certificates from Farm Radio International for the many e-discussions held so far when l was still working with UBC Radio.l now practice backyard farming as well as being a Publicity and Mobilization Officer on the Parish Local Council Executive (LC ll) l am responsible for seeing to it that l help the local people with how to do income generating activities which include farming of course. I am expected to inform and assist these people to improve on their farming methods, engage them, see that they can make good use of social media to collaborate with other stakeholders to advance their projects and farming.
My hobbies include traveling, engaging with farmers, sharing experiences on social media, doing voluntary work thus putting smiles on people’s faces - that only gives me a lot of satisfaction.
I want to learn more on how collaborations can can be used to improve value chains, how farmers can have meaningful pyramidal collaborations, how collaborations can be used to build capacity and to acquire knowledge; how to collaborate with potential funders or sponsors for radio programs especially the farmers’ ones.

Things that broadcasters and stakeholders should keep in mind while having interview programs are; broadcasters should ready to disseminate farm information as many ad possible just to make sure they key into that program or develop strong interest (2)stakeholders should ready to learn and tap every useful information disseminated by broadcasters
