Greetings professional colleagues,
Its awesome to be in this House, looking at the numbers of experienced and resourceful you all many of us will learn a thing or two. I am a Journalist from Zambia. I have spent a little bit of time as a print Journalist, and broadcasting on various issues with a number of radio stations since 2002. Last two years I too have had the privilege to work as a Journalist Mentor with the BBC MA, a role that has taken me to all provinces of Zambia working with over 20 radio stations, largely community. Farming has been one major aspect of my work both as print and broadcast Journalist.
ADVERT: A Farmer waited for farming inputs to arrive as promised by the government and its agents before he could start cultivating. He waited up to towards a close of the rain season without farming inputs coming. The farmer was depressed the government announced a cut in floor price of produce next marketing Sean by close to 50%. Some day a politician arrived with another bag full of promises but the farmer told the politician to go campaign/le to his households.
My Name is Hajji Kawenja Abubaker, a Ugandan radio personality, working with CBS Fm Buganda radio. I do host the Morning Show “Bwakedde Mpulira” every week starting 6:00 am to 9:00 am.
One of the funniest adverts that have run on my station was in relation to a quack land dealer who was convincing the buyer to take the plot of land at a giveaway price but advised him to only construct at night since the “spirits” in the area do not allow any broad day construction.
Hi @Johnchola
Welcome to Barza! We are happy to have you here. I think I love that farmer, the advert is funny indeed
Welcome!
We are delighted to have you on board! As for that dealer, how does he expect to get people to buy that land? Who is will willing to challenge the spirits of the area?

Hello, my name is Gladys Phiri from Lilongwe, Malawi. I worked with Zodiak Broadcasting Station-ZBS as
Project Officer /Producer /Presenter more than three years before joining Farm Radio Trust last November after assuming a similar position, and also resource mobilization unit. Prior to that I worked with ADRA Malawi as a Communications Officer and producer for eight years, where l had an opportunity of acting in radio and television series.
The funniest advert I’ve heard on radio was the one portraying better service provision by mobile companies where two ladies had a discussion over the phone, just after saying hello Jane it’s your husband!!! the callers phone got cut because airtime had run out. Now the woman’s husband was wondering what her friend wanted to tell her about her husband then she decided to call her friend to hear what she had to say, and all she had to say was, Jane can you imagine!!! I am at the market and your husband just passed me by and couldn’t give me a lift home!!!
I so much look forward to this E-discussion, my apologies for joining now currently out in the field for some radio program recordings, I hope to be able to participate nonetheless.
Greetings all.
Hello everyone,

The funniest advert was about was about a brand of porridge, so this grand father had a young grandson (according to the voices), so he boiled and served the porridge and after tasting, the porridge was very nice. He finished his quickly and even took that of the grandson, so the grandson said “but Jajja (Grand father) you’ve also taken my porridge”.
