Indeed @smawerere

We have a lot of participants. Hopefully everyone will be here till the end, we have exciting topics coming up.

Hello, my name is Gladys Phiri from Lilongwe, Malawi. I worked with Zodiak Broadcasting Station-ZBS as
Project Officer /Producer /Presenter more than three years before joining Farm Radio Trust last November after assuming a similar position, and also resource mobilization unit. Prior to that I worked with ADRA Malawi as a Communications Officer and producer for eight years, where l had an opportunity of acting in radio and television series.

The funniest advert I’ve heard on radio was the one portraying better service provision by mobile companies where two ladies had a discussion over the phone, just after saying hello Jane it’s your husband!!! the callers phone got cut because airtime had run out. Now the woman’s husband was wondering what her friend wanted to tell her about her husband then she decided to call her friend to hear what she had to say, and all she had to say was, Jane can you imagine!!! I am at the market and your husband just passed me by and couldn’t give me a lift home!!!
I so much look forward to this E-discussion, my apologies for joining now currently out in the field for some radio program recordings, I hope to be able to participate nonetheless.

Greetings all.

Hello everyone,
My name is Laila Ndagire from Uganda, a producer and presenter working with Mama Fm a Women focused Community Radio run by female journalists under Uganda Media Women’s Association.

The funniest advert was about was about a brand of porridge, so this grand father had a young grandson (according to the voices), so he boiled and served the porridge and after tasting, the porridge was very nice. He finished his quickly and even took that of the grandson, so the grandson said “but Jajja (Grand father) you’ve also taken my porridge”.

Hello! Fellow Broadcasters,

My name is Mike Achanyi - Fontem from Southern Cameroon (Ambazonia) ICT Dev. Officer at Cameroon Link in charge of supervision and control.

Icebreaker: Mind where and how you eat when using public transportation.

Imagine a bus with 70 seats capacity loaded 87 fat persons out of which only 3 were thin persons, recognized as farmer since they had their work tools and had each a bag of food stuff with nice aroma well preservered as their launch pack. The aroma provoked serious hunger and 87 bought, way-side food at the toll gate, as the farmers dropped to continue by foot to their usual farm road.

The journey continued and 10 minutes later one of the 87 messed a silent air due to stomach disorder and kept quiet, while some had food in their hands and the sun was overhead. In the course of some complaining, they inhaled the air borne disease which caused many to pour out chewed food as vomit. The situation became complicated and the driver stop.

One of the passenger being angry said driver your boss is wicked, how could he load 87 BOSS in one bus? The driver responded Boss don’t eat in bus anyhow, next time check well what you buy and eat while travelling.

If I were to asked you, who mess the air? Who will you accuse in that bus?

Thanks,

Mike

Hello everyone,
I did not share my funny advert so here it is:-

The funny advert that I remember is on one of the radio stations in Kampala it concerns a Pig farmer who talks to his pigs complaining about their poor feeding, and their unhealthy looks; the pigs response by grunting and the farmers tells them that “Eeeh! You mean Big Pig, Ooh so that is what you need!” They grunt again and he says “Okay I will give it to you!!” The pigs keep on grunting and the farmer says “BIG PIG”, “BIG PIG” for fasting maturing pigs. If you do not give it to your pigs then you are doomed!
Members here “BIG PIG” is a meal given to pigs.

lol, Your advert make me think of this one. There was once a mother hen and a sheep who could speak as human beings do. One day the hen found the sheep tight under a tree, then asked her good friend what are you doing there?

The sheep replied it is the feast of the ram… the hen laught and said bal-ka-la sala (Happy feast of the ram) so the will soon slaughter you.

Few months later, December arrived and the lambs of the sheep that was slaughter found that same hen tight under that same tree. They asked mother hen what are you doing there? She replied its Christmas season. The 2 lambs laughed and said it means you will soon be slaughter.

They asked mother hen to wish their mother happy new year once she enters the pot.

lol
