Week 4: Collaboration and sustainability

As of now we are in a pilot phase of farmer profiling to sort those we can drill on how to talk On-Air. They will be trained on how to present their finding and farm discovery on radio or during field interviews by Journalism students interested in the sector of agrculture. It would be a perfect means of letting others who find no interest to share information, to develop it. By so doing this mighty contribute in the change of mindset of those subject experts who believe farmers can never present the fact s better as they do. When invited as guest speaker on radio.

I want to ask this: is there any strategy on engaging new stakeholders into collaboration?

I mean a stakeholder who haven’t involve in any collaboration before.

Glory be to God for your understanding

Openness and transparency with our collaborators can contribute to making the collaborative relationship or venture more sustainable and worthwhile. Sometimes it is through the collaborators that we can get links to big sponsors and funders. If we take the collaborators into confidence and open up to them and not assume that they are naive and without idea, they may be the people who can lead us to the people who can help us. In most cases, it is the extent of our application of equity and inclusion in our collaboration that can attract us funds to run our farm radio. International Development Organizations who are looking for any ventures which collaborates with women and marginalized groups may consider funding any farm radio programme that collaborates with many women at all levels in front and and behind the microphone.

I agree with the fact that people collaborate and will want to continue collaborating with people who add value to their lives. If the collaboration benefits and challenges are mutually shared, such collaboration can be sustained for a while,

True, Buzo, I have tried it and it is working.

It’s not all collaborations that require funding. In previous weeks, I raised the importance of building good relationship with stakeholders and let them have a sense of ownership

Making the collaborators see the win-win advantage of the collaboration can help in preventing any need to raise funds. Kind support can also be useful
